It was a great time growing up and witnessing this experimental fusion of sounds. Pirate radio and the rave scene was filled with a fusion of Hardcore bass and breaks along with the new emerging Jungle sound. The Jungle music sound became a phenomenon that was widely followed by late night revellers and ravers inner city, the suburbs and up and down the UK. Weekend Rush FM started broadcasting on 92.5FM dial in 1991 moving to the 92.3FM dial in 1993.

Shabba would go on to headline Telepathy which gave him his first real big break and the rest was history. Which brings us to MC Shabba who was in his early teens at the time of this set and was building his craft. SL would become one of the most celebrated DJs of the early Jungle era headlining raves like Telepathy, Jungle Fever, Roast, Jungle Splash, Thunder & Joy and all the biggest raves of that era. SL was part of the Champagne Sound System with Funky Flirt who back then was known as MC Dirty Den. This set features one wing of the Supreme Team, DJ SL who started off on Weekend Rush FM before joining forces with DJ Ron several months later on Kool FM 94.5. Recorded on Sat 16th Oct 1993 on the night of 'Life Utopia' Express (Edmonton) which had an epic lineup: Top Buzz, Mickey Finn, Ellis Dee, Swann-E, Devious Dee, with MC Robbie D and MC MC.
